Bronte Longhorn (formerly known as Singing Winds) is a 9-hole public course set in the rolling terrain on the edge of West Texas. This is a short course with tree-lined fairways, no bunkers, and small greens. The signature hole is No. 6, a 185-yard par 3 over water.
If you catch this track during dry conditions, the fairways might be brown, but it's grass that is good enough to give you a good lie. Use your irons and keep it in the fairway, because the rough is hard-panned dirt and rocks.
Getting there : Located on Hwy. 277 halfway between Abilene and San Angelo. Look for the signs to the course.
