Surprisingly for any course east of Dallas, Elk Hollow’s 9-hole layout is void of the thick pine trees that typically line the fairways in East Texas. While there are a few trees that might randomly impact a shot, the course is wide open.

Dating all the way back to 1916, the Paris Golf and Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the state. The traditional design is considered more of a target course because of the curving nature of the fairways and the small greens, which are fast and usually in excellent condition.
