Legends is the only 18-hole option in Stephenville. Kknown for the its well-conditioned greens, it is an easy course that is enjoyable because of its laid-back atmosphere.

Here you’ll have the chance to start out strong, since the opening two holes consist of a 450-yard par 5 followed by a reasonably easy par 3. The most difficult par 4 and number one handicap is on the front in the 412-yard No. 4, but the remainder of the front poses little problems.

The same goes for the back nine–unlike many other courses today, it features two short par 4s to finish the round.

Getting there : From Hwy. 377, turn right on Lingleville Hwy., then travel to Ben Hogan Dr. and make another right.

The course has been renovating for years with not much to show for it. The front 9 and back 9 are disjointed courses: front through a neighborhood and back a wide open field. The greens are pretty rough at times. Specifically, 12 and 13 are like a parking lot, which are actually new or temporary greens replacing old ones. If temporary, they're 5 years in to it. The clubhouse attendant said they don't have an irrigation system on the back. The overall layout is great, but nothing is put into the course. Only landscaping is done by college or high school kids. No groundskeeper. The clubhouse is sparse, but the staff is friendly. Rates are reasonable for what it is. Sad to see the potential of a great course.

Lots of work going on at course. Adding sand bunkers and new tee boxes. Feedback from members is best shape its ever been in. New Pro Shop and some of the best food in the area. Have live music on Friday nights.
