Blackhawk rests on the site of an old dairy farm, where the rolling terrain is suited for this links-style layout. This wide-open course features lots of water, loads of bunkers, and huge greens that are easy to three-putt if your approaches are off and you don’t have that feel for lag putting.
Each side has a punishing finishing hole. No. 9 is a monstrous par 4 that plays 464 yards. Off the tee, the narrow landing area is not conducive for the necessary booming drive, and the water causes problems in the fairway and around the green.
Hole 18 plays 430 yards, requiring a tee shot into the dogleg-right fairway that must thread two bodies of water.
The club prefers that you walk only on weekdays.
Getting there : Take I-35 north out of Austin, then exit FM 1825 east. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 685 and turn left. Drive another 2.5 miles to Kelly Ln. and turn right.

- recently it has been in real good shape. Staff is very nice, price is right, better is you get on their email system. Green were super. Couple of big patches under repair on fairways, but overall nice - compared to other courses around the Austin area for about the same price.This course has come a long way in spite of the drought and course neglect from past years which is good to see. There is still more work that needs to be done but, the overall direction is good. The greens are in the best shape that I had seen for this course. The fairways, not completely fixed, are being resurrected.
The course overall is good and improving. With the changes in the area this course has the potential of re becoming a prominent Pflugerville asset.Greens good at times but too many bad playing areas in the fairway. Some holes would be ranked a 3 or 4 but overall, not the best course.
