River Chase one of the best golf courses in area, reader says

Riverchase Golf Course is one of the best golfing experiences in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The course is in immaculate shape, with flawless, lush, quick Bermuda grass greens.

The pace of play was under four hours with a patient foursome. The service had the atmosphere of a country club. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to have a good golfing experience without going into debt to do it.

You'll notice that the previous comment was from 2005! I've played it several times and recently in 2008 and 9. In order to get people to play they have at various times offered an inclusive lunch and/or breakfast. The course is surrounded by houses, the condition is fair but the difficulty is minimal. There are far better courses to be had inc Bear Creek, Texas Star, Woodbridge, Links at Waterchase & Trails of Frisco amongst others.

I just played the course last week for the first (and last) time. The fairways are dry and underwatered and the greens aren't much better. The rough is like a cow pasture with weeds and bare spots throughout. The service is pathetic - the young girls at the lunch counter are nice and quick to help but stay away from it if the middle age women are there....
It feels like a course that was built by a developer so he could sell as many lame "golf course community" lots as possible.
