AUSTIN, Texas -- Located just west of Austin, Texas, on the road towards Lake Travis is River Place Country Club. River Place is an upscale, private golf club and residential community that opened in mid-1990s during the golf boom of central Texas. The centerpiece of the facility is a 40,000-square-foot clubhouse, which overlooks the golf course designed by Tom Kite and Jay Morrish.
The golf course plays just more than 6,600 yards from the championship tees and features a handful of very dramatic holes that have greens tucked beside ravines and lined with rock walls. Several holes play through tight woods, while others are more wide open and offer pleasant views of the surrounding Texas Hill Country.
While a private country club, River Place does offer a limited amount of public access tee times on particular days, so the chance to play this exclusive course is possible.
