Hill Country Golf Club features 27 holes of San Antonio's most scenic golf
SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio is full of great golf resorts, including the Hill Country Golf Club, located at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort just north of the city.
The 27-hole Arthur Hills design is open to both resort guests and the general public, and it features some of the best facilities and conditions in the golf-rich area. The routing consists of three interchangeable nines across 200 acres, but each are a little different.
The Oaks Course, the original nine that opened in 1993, is the tightest, as oaks come into play beside fairways and near greens. The remaining nines, the Lakes and the Creeks, opened in 2005 and come with more threats of water.
All of the nines roll on gentle, wooded terrain, more classic compared to some of the more undulating Hill Country golf courses in the area. They play as par 36s and have comparable yardage between 3,400 and 3,500 yards. The three nines help alleviate any pace-of-play issues as golfers can be scattered across all three layouts.
In addition to 27 holes, Hill Country Golf Club offers lessons on its large practice range, and the large clubhouse has a fully stocked pro shop and full restaurant, bar and group facilities.
