Crystal Falls Golf Club in Leander
Crystal Falls Golf Club is an affordable, public golf course in Leander, Texas, about 25 miles northwest of downtown Austin. The course is set through rugged and rocky Hill Country terrain and features both dramatic views and downhill tee shots.
Though part of the Crystal Falls development, there very little housing presence throughout the golf course, instead the course is thickly wooded and features numerous water hazards. One unique aspect to the design, however, is there are no sand bunkers. But there is still plenty of trouble. Many fairways are tight and lined on each side by forest or water. Crystal Falls Golf Club plays a par 72, 6,654 yards from the championship tees and on a windy day, it's all the golf course you could ask for. From the whites, the course plays a more manageable 6,164 yards and features all but one par 4 between 320 and 400 yards.
The Crystal Falls Golf Club facility features a small pro shop, grill and driving range. Golf carts have basic GPS - no overhead flyover maps, but yardages to the green and certain perpendicular hazards and trees.
