2003 Gladney Cup Golf Tournament set for early June

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Gladney Center for Adoption is proud to announce The 2003 Gladney Cup Golf Tournament weekend of events for June 7-9, 2003. This includes an intimate concert performance by Harry Connick, Jr. and his Big Band at Bass Performance Hall.

The Gladney Cup Weekend of Events will kick off with an intimate concert performance by Harry Connick, Jr. and his Big Band at Bass Performance Hall. This will be followed by "One Jazzy Night," dinner and live auction held at the new Gladney Center Campus. Finally, on Monday, The Gladney Cup Golf Tournament will be held at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

June 7, 2003 - Harry Connick, Jr. and His Big Band

Harry Connick, Jr. and his Big Band will present an intimate concert at Bass Performance Hall to benefit The Gladney Center on Saturday evening. In addition to the concert, special guests will be treated to a pre-concert dinner and attend a Champagne & Dessert reception with Harry Connick, Jr. immediately following the concert.

Harry Connick, Jr. continues to push boundaries and redefine success, no small feat in a career marked by ten multi-platinum, platinum and gold albums, and a wealth of performance awards and nominations. By the age of 18, he had recorded his self-titled major-label debut for Columbia. His film debut came at the age of 22 in the 1990 drama "Memphis Belle," and during the 90s, Connick went on to star in several highly acclaimed films. All proceeds from Saturday night's performance will benefit the Gladney Center for Adoption

June 8, 2003 - "One Jazzy Night"

"One Jazzy Night" (Sunday evening), participants will enjoy a turn-of-the-century golf setting for dinner and a live auction featuring once-in-a-lifetime packages at The Gladney Center Campus. This exciting event held in conjunction with the Gladney Cup golf tournament, will take you back in time to the dawn of golf in America, an era of flappers, flivvers, and flaming youth! The evening begins with cocktails to the tunes of a hip jazz band, followed by a wonderful dinner, and concludes with a live auction.

June 9, 2003 - Gladney Cup Golf Tournament

The 2003 Gladney Cup Golf Tournament will be played at Colonial Country Club. The tournament will host 200 contestants playing two best balls per foursome, net of full handicap. The Gladney Cup Golf Tournament combines the love of golf with the desire to promote adoption. Foursomes from around the country will gather for a chance to play at one of the greatest courses in the United States as well as to financially support the non-profit Gladney Center for Adoption.

Proceeds raised through participation in The Gladney Cup benefit The Gladney Center for Adoption, America's pre-eminent adoption and maternity services agency. The Gladney Center helps to create bright futures each year for hundreds of adoptive parents, birth parents and children in this country and around the world through their adoption, education, humanitarian and support services.

Gladney is one of the oldest and largest maternity homes and adoption agencies in the United States. This year, Gladney will place over 350 children in forever homes. Gladney has placed over 26,000 children from here and around the globe since the agency was founded in 1887.
